Hellow reader, Artist Rahul S. Sawant is the Owner of Tamra-Kasya handicrafts. he is graduated B.F.A. from sir j.j. School of art, Mumbai specialized in metal works( Metal Art & Craft). Rahul is a Mumbai based artisan & registered with ministry of textile & craft govt. of india. he has been awarded by many awards & interviewed by newspapers in academic years. Rahul has debuted by Tamra-kasya handicrafts, which is a manufacturing brand of copper & brass jewelry.
Rajat Sparsh it is a new brand of tamra-kasya also owned by Rahul S. Sawant.
Tamra-kasya (ताम्र-कास्य) Means Copper - Brass. Copper is the first metal to be found. From the ancient times copper and brass has importance in daily life products. In every ancient civilization, brass & copper were commonly found in the form of utensils as well as jewelry. Copper alloys like brass and bronze are used in sculptures of deities.
Copper & its alloys have some beneficial properties that's why they are used widely in ancient civilization. Copper utensils also has pros n cons. But its higher durability and benefits make this metal auspicious than other metals.
Every single home in India used at least one copper or brass product. Copper also plays important role in indian auspicious activities. The bell of temples today also made up of Copper alloys. In Indian villages when some on is seek, people rub bronze bowl on his feet to absorb excess heat & let him help in maintaining body temperature. Copper also plays important role in blood circulation in the body. Drinking water form copper vessel give us 10 benefits like brain stimulation, maintenance of thyroid glands, preventing cancer Etc. Morning sun rays when enlighten copper surface, it will emits positive vibes. Having copper products in home brings positive atmosphere. Nowadays scientists also proved that copper kills bacteria in surrounding atmosphere.
Such healthy metal is now diminish from our daily life. Because of its maintaining process. Copper gets oxidized over time because of environment & produce green-blue layer called patina. This has to be removed from cookware & vessels.In Todays busy life no one gets time to maintain it.
On this background we are trying to get back this healthy metal in our daily life. We use jewelry every day & everywhere. We always want new designs.. New look. New finish.. New materials in jewelry. we thought if people getting a jewelry of such a healthy metal with almost no mantainance with modern and attractive design at affordable prices then they will definitely think about it. So we have launched handmade brass earrings, copper - brass earrings & pendants set, We also launched some tableware products like pen stands and card holders, fruit bowls, small frames, candle stand etc. Soon the products category & number Will increase.
The base behind Tamra-kasya designing is antique feel, modern look & material combination, nature inspired, unique style and purity at affordable cost. We want to bring this ancient & healthy metal copper in modern manner & style. We want to be a brand who makes healthy jewelry & products. We need to spread the wellness of Copper worldwide & making home atmosphere healthy.
How do we work?
We would like to tell you about how we managed all the things. Currently we are team of 4 peoples we have distributed in units. We work in a cycle,

2nd production & quality check ups
3rd packaging
4th marketing & branding
5th saling & feedbacks collection
Again to the 1st step
The most important & big element in this cycle is production unit. We have a small room in mulund west in a Chawl where all the production is done. Production goes through following processes.
1. cutting in shapes
2. texturing
3. shaping
4. wire work
5. Soldering
6. Acid cleaning
7. surface treatments
8.finishing
9. Coating
& then it moves to quality check up followed by packaging. Each product of Tamra-kasya is handmade with love, care & it always go through all of this steps.
